NGA – Innovative Hospitality Research’s Hotel Market Index Score was developed to cover 40 non-gateway markets in 21 states using 10 critical factors indicative of markets that demonstrate sustained and growing hotel fundamentals.  The markets are then grouped into Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3, and Drive-To market categories.  The 40 markets are then scored against each other on each of the 10 factors.  Finally, based on the market category, a weighting is applied to the 10 factors to determine the final index score.  Ultimately, the Hotel Market Index Score creates a quick and consolidated way to compare like-kind markets for potential hotel investment decisions.
